eva's organics

Week Beginning 10th July 2017

We post pictures of Eva’s Organics activities on Facebook. If you would be so kind, you might consider visiting our page and clicking the ‘like’ button. I’m not sure why this is important to us but our son Robert says it is. Look out for pictures of baby courgettes with flowers coming soon.

The free dandelions are popular but we still have some left. So if you have a pet rabbit, you might like to take advantage of this exclusive offer: one bag of premium dandelion leaves, free of charge! Order now to avoid disappointment.

This season’s strawberries are finished but the blackcurrants are ready – let me know if you would like some. Our cherries are in short supply this year because heavy rain at critical times has caused lots of them to crack. We have four varieties that ripen at different times and some are probably affected more than others, however we will have to wait a while to see if the later ones are any good. Our home grown soft fruit also includes raspberries and gooseberries which were planted in recent years. Small amounts of both are ready now. Also, if you don’t get a fruit box, you are very welcome to add bonus fruit – and anything else you fancy – to your veg box.

Ready now: baby courgettes, regular courgettes, baby cucumbers, regular (Genovese) basil, Greek basil, French beans, broad beans, kohl rabi, carrots, beetroot, cherries, blackcurrants, raspberries, edible flowers, kale, cavolo nero, salad leaves, lettuces, various Oriental leaves, spring onions, lovage, lemon balm, sage, oregano, rosemary, rhubarb, Swiss chard, rainbow chard and chives. The new potatoes from west Cumbria are called Casablanca.

The Low Luckens Bonus Box: we have so much of our own home grown organic produce available now that we can bring back the famous Low Luckens Bonus Box.  You get six items – whatever is available –  for £5, to add to your regular order. To help us keep the cost low, there are no swaps with this one and you may also receive the same items as part of your regular order. Also, this week, we have Bonus Salad Leaves with Edible Flowers: one bag for £1. Green and red oakleaf lettuces are ready now and we still have lots of spring onions. We are offering bonus bags of both at last year’s prices. Bonus Lettuce: one for £1 and Bonus Spring Onions: one bunch for £1.

Bonus offers to add to your regular order

LOW LUCKENS BONUS BOX: Six items from our garden for £5. No swaps!

BONUS LETTUCE: One for £1.

BONUS SPRING ONIONS: One bunch for £1.

GENERAL BONUS BAG: Choose any item we supply (fruit or veg) and as long as supplies allow, we’ll bring you a bag of it weighing more than you would normally get for the price. £2 a bag. As long as we have the produce, you can have as many General Bonus Bags as you like.
