Week Beginning 10th August 2015

BIG NEWS!

We have bought Low Luckens! This is where we’ve been growing most of our vegetables for the last twelve years but by taking on the whole smallholding we have multiplied our growing area more than ten fold. Our new telephone number is 016977 48331, and our new address is Low Luckens, Roweltown, Carlisle, CA6 6LJ. Website address and emails are the same as before. It will take some time and a lot of hard work to get all that land into production but before too long, you should be able to enjoy lots more of our own home grown produce. We are also aiming to open up Eva’s Organics at Low Luckens to visitors on a regular basis – with opportunities to pick your own veg, learn our ecological approach to gardening, walk in the ancient oak woodlands by the River Lyne and lots of other brilliant things we haven’t even thought of yet! Look out for pictures on Facebook and please ‘Like’ the page.

Meanwhile, we still have lots of summer fruit and vegetables available now and the same special offers as last week.

WHAT’S IN THE GARDEN?

Broccoli, broad beans, green cabbage, beetroot, cavolo nero, regular kale, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, French beans, lettuce leaves and flowers, whole lettuce, spring onions, Swiss chard, rainbow chard, canary chard, coriander, dill, sage, oregano and rosemary.

OTHER SEASONAL HIGHLIGHTS

The new potatoes from west Cumbria are Colleen. We have English celery, Florence fennel, pak choi, watercress, mushrooms, carrots, green cabbage, kohl rabi, beetroot as well as melons from Spain and peaches and apricots from France.

We have 25 different box types and they may or may not contain the items listed above. If you would like to receive any of them, let us know by Friday of the previous week and, if stocks (and the value of the box) allow, we’ll include them in your box.

THANK YOU FOR RETURNING YOUR EMPTY BOXES
