Weekly Update – 4th August 2014

BONUS GREEK BASIL

It’s delicious as pesto and in salads. Two packs for £2.

LOW LUCKENS BONUS VEG

If you haven’t ordered already, now is the time to take advantage of all the summer bounty being harvested from the polytunnels. It’s our best deal of the year so far: add 7 Low Luckens items to your order for just £5.00. Sorry no swaps with this one – we make up the veg bonus boxes with the items that are ready that week and we save time on packing by making everybody’s the same. And as with all bonus produce, this is an addition to the items you would be getting in your regular order.

WHAT’S IN THE GARDEN?

Our own cherry tomatoes are ready now. We also have lots of komatsuna, Florence fennel, French beans, midi cucumbers, courgettes, lettuces, Oriental leaves, pak choi, rainbow chard, flat leaf parsley and kale as well as edible flowers including Nasturtium, borage, Viola, sage and marigold.

OTHER SEASONAL HIGHLIGHTS

The Cumbrian new potatoes are called Colleen. We are also buying in regular and vine tomatoes from Gloucestershire, watercress from Wiltshire and green Primo cabbage from Lincolnshire. We also have apricots and peaches from France as well as Galia melons and watermelons from Spain.

We have 25 different box types and they may or may not contain the items listed above. If you would like to receive any of them, let us know by Friday of the previous week and, if stocks (and the value of the box) allow, we’ll include them in your box.
